Shurwin is an extremely experienced series producer. He began his career at the high point of MTV UK’s erratic but at times brilliant late 90s output. He started out as a researcher but left as MTV Base’s Channel manager, in between he produced, directed or helped shape the broadcaster’s most eye catching shows from FANatic, Making Of The Video, Diary Of, Hip Hop Candy, the Dancefloor Chart, the inaugural MTV Africa Awards and his most famous creation – the rnb groundbreaking behemoth that was The Lick with Trevor Nelson, which still has a cult following.
Most recently he has produced all of Hey Buddy Films’ shortform work for the likes of Sony Bravia, Unilever, Adidas, Elite Modeling Agency and Ford. Whilst developing, producing or exec producing the company’s terrestrial documentary slate with shows like Don’t Blame Facebook, Diverse Nation, Nelson Mandela Superstar, and Beckii: Schoolgirl Superstar at 14. Shurwin has also amazingly found time to event produce at the London 2012 Olympics and re-invented the BBC’s latest broadcasts of the annual MOBO awards to critical and industry acclaim. When not making telly he still finds time to kick a football around on a Sunday morning – fool!
