FAQs

Where will the programme take place?

Indielab 2022 TV Accelerator will take a hybrid approach, combining in-person and digital delivery, so that your company can benefit from the advantages of both.

The programme's digital elements will take advantage of Indielab Connect, our bespoke networking platform and app. All in-person sessions will take place at venues in central London.

All of the programme dates are listed here. Full details of venues and platforms will be provided when you are accepted onto the programme.

Is the programme just for founders? Can I bring another member of the team?

Indielab is designed for founders and senior leadership team members responsible for company growth. We offer two places per company on the programme for founders and senior leaders. If you are a sole founder then we encourage you to bring a trusted colleague, to share your learning on the programme.

What if I can’t attend one of the dates?

We are happy for you to nominate a colleague to attend in your place if you are unable to make a specific date. However, we do require that founders attend at least 80% of the programme.

Is the programme for companies looking to raise investment?

We are a growth accelerator and look at all aspects of growth; working closely with you over the course of the programme, we will help you decide whether seeking investment is relevant for your growth path or not. There is no obligation for companies to pitch for investment, but if you decide to pitch, our team of experts will support you through the pitch process.

Do you accept applications from start-ups?

Yes – although start-up places are limited, and most attendees are scale-ups. As a start-up, you will need to demonstrate your potential and have three founder credits.

Who will the other indies be?

Companies from across genres, and across the UK, all focused on developing their growth.

Who will the speakers and trainers be?

Throughout the programme we will be inviting industry leaders from across the UK and global sectors to deliver insight and perspective. These speakers will include broadcasters, commissioning editors, distributors, SVODs, indie sector leaders, investors and legal and financial specialists. Full details of speakers will be provided when you are accepted onto the programme, but details of our many previous speakers can be found here, and details of our trainers found here.

Will I have to disclose confidential information about my company?

You can disclose as much or as little as you wish, and you will not be required to share sensitive company information in front of other participant companies. However, you may find you get less out of the programme if you are not happy to share your experiences.

I may require access adjustments or alternative arrangements if my application is successful. Can I discuss these with Indielab?

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully with the programme. If you feel that your circumstances may have an impact on your ability to fully participate then please contact Matthew Poxon, Programme Manager: matthew@weareindielab.co.uk. All information will be treated confidentially. Our accessible and inclusive learning policy can be found here.

Can I apply again if I am not accepted onto the programme?

If you are unsuccessful in your application then we still want to keep in touch with you. We’ll keep you updated on further programmes and would encourage you to apply again in future.

What happens if government restrictions impact on live events?

All elements of the programme can be delivered online via our platform and virtual conferencing suite, and we have been refining the tools and techniques necessary to achieve this over the past two years. The safety of our delegates and team is paramount; we will advise you of all necessary COVID safety requirements at our in-person events, and if restrictions around COVID require it, we will adapt some or all of the in-person sessions for digital delivery.
