Victoria Powell, Indielab Founder

Indielab’s founder Victoria Powell leads the organisation.  She founded Indielab Accelerator in 2015 to support the UK indie sector, and works with all the major broadcasters, platforms, distributors and indies in the sector to bring together a unique growth programme each year.

Victoria also leads Indielab Consultancy, providing strategic advice to a range of indies to support their growth and investment activity, including in the development of their UK and international growth plans.

Through her work consulting on investment activity she has helped five indies achieve investment deals in the last three years alone: Antidote Productions with Edge Fund; Midnight Oil with a private investor; Awesome with Kew Media; Bullion with All3 Media and one further deal yet to be announced.

Victoria co-founded a production company V Good, producing factual, factual entertainment and factual drama for broadcasters including Channel 4, BBC, Sky, ITV and Five. She sold the label in 2008. Her experience co-founding an indie, and working with 60+ UK indies through Indielab and Indielab Consultancy, gives her a unique understanding of the challenges, opportunities, creative and commercial needs that enable success in a TV business.

Victoria has also served as a strategic adviser on media policy to UK Government, and has been a member of PACT Policy Group as well as the Creative Industries Council ‘Access to Finance Group’ at the DCMS.
