Jess Fowle, True North

In a twenty year career in factual television – Jess has made everything from immersive one-off docs to long running, multi-episode features series.

Prior to founding True North, Jess started her TV career at TV-am before moving to ITV Yorkshire’s factual programmes department where a career highlight was delivering some of ITV’s highest ever factual ratings with Nannies from Hell.

At True North, Jess has overall responsibility for the new business pipeline – setting development strategy, working with the other business winners to maximize return on all our development efforts and heading up the development team.

During her time at True North, Jess has created a number of returning series and spearheaded True North’s drive into some of the company’s most successful genre specialisms – including high volume and returnable children’s content and property programming.

She currently Exec Produces Building the Dream, A New Life in the Sun and the Junior Vets brand.  Alongside these highly profitable staples, Jess has also created some of True North’s most talked about tabloid titles like My Fake Baby, The Twins Who Share a Body, My Mums Used to Be Men and Addicted To Surrogacy.

Working collaboratively with contributors, Jess has been at the forefront of forging True North’s reputation for telling sensitive stories with integrity and humanity.

Jess has a particular interest in spotting and developing new production talent and loves working closely with new film-makers to help them make the programmes they are passionate about.

Jess is passionate about business improvement – and is constantly finding ways to do things better at True North!
