Paul Sandler, COO Cat's On The Roof Media
Paul runs the Cat’s on the Roof Media group of companies. Backed by ITV, it was set up with Andrew O’Connor in early 2015 and comprises Crook Productions, Gameface and Second Act Productions.
Paul also works with Vaudeville Productions, Derren Brown’s TV & stage show production company.
Between 2005 and 2015 Paul was Managing Director of Objective Productions. Having made The Sunday Times Fast Track List for 2006, the company was sold to All3 Media the following year and grew to be one of the UK’s largest entertainment production companies.
In 2014 Paul also joined drama and factual indie Eleven Film as their Executive Chairman in order to facilitate investment from the Channel 4 Growth Fund. Paul left the company in late 2016.
From 2001 to 2005 Paul worked as an independent consultant concentrating on production and business growth.
For the ten years before that he was at Planet 24, joining the board as Production Director in 1994. He was a core member of the small team behind the origination of The Big Breakfast and which also created and developed the Survivor format, first aired on CBS in the US and for which he later became the International Format Consultant. Paul also ran Planet 24 Radio and Planet’s animation arm, Impossible Television. Planet was sold to Carlton Television in 1999.
Previously Paul was with Picture Music International, the video arm of EMI Records and before all that he just watched an awful lot of television.
