Rob Carey, Joint CEO Curve Media

Rob Carey is joint CEO of Curve Media, an unscripted production company with permanent production bases in London and Cardiff, and production capability globally. Curve specialises in high quality long-running factual and entertainment shows for the world’s biggest networks including BBC, Discovery Networks, ITV, Channel 4, Viacom and Sky.

In the past four years Curve has grown its slate to include the following high-profile returnable shows: Vicky McClure: My Dementia Choir (BBC One), Claimed and Shamed (BBC One), A Matter of Life and Debt (BBC One), Call The Cleaners (ITV1), Testing Britain’s Drivers (ITV1), How to Make Your Marriage Work (Channel 4), Paradise Hunters (Channel 4), 999: On The Front Line (Channel 4), Trauma Doctors (Channel 5), Undercover: Nailing The Fraudsters (Channel 5), Salvage Hunters (Discovery Networks), Classic Cars (Discovery Networks), The Restorers (Discovery Networks), My Extraordinary Pregnancy (TLC).

Curve Media was formed in 2014 by key creatives Rob Carey and Camilla Lewis, following a management buyout of Cineflix Productions.

Rob was International Creative Director for Cineflix from 2008 to 2014. During his time at Cineflix he grew the company slate to over 1000 hours of television, co-creating a variety of shows including Family Food Fight(Five), Campus PD (G4), Weird or What? (Discovery US), Nazi Hunters(History), Human Prey (Animal Planet), World’s Greenest Homes (Planet Green), Dinner Party Wars (Food Network) The Unsellables (BBC), Animals At Work (BBC), Robostar (CBBC).

Before joining Cineflix in 2007, Rob was Head of Factual Entertainment for At It Productions and Creative Director, Factual Entertainment and Features for Mentorn Productions.

At Mentorn, Rob co-created and executive produced Britain’s Worst Driver which grew into the highly successful ‘Worst’ franchise – producing ten series over four years and in the top 50 best-selling television formats of all time. In 2008 he won the Rose D’Or in Montreaux for another entertainment format he created for the BBC – Hider In The House, which has also sold extensively worldwide.

Rob has produced and directed many factual entertainment shows including The Real Holiday ShowMoving People (Channel 4), Take My Mother-In-Law (ITV1) and Work Out (Bravo US) in addition to factual projects including Osama Bin Laden – The World’s Most Wanted Man (Five), Most Evil Men In History (Five) and Disaster Masters (BBC One).
