Steve November, Creative Director of UK Television Lionsgate

Reflecting a growth initiative for the Lionsgate UK television business, leading ITV executive Steve November has been hired as Creative Director of UK Television, it was announced today by Zygi Kamasa, CEO for Lionsgate UK & Europe, and Lionsgate Television Group Chairman Kevin Beggs.  Based in Lionsgate UK’s London office, November will spearhead the growth of the Company’s slate of original programming and manage its constellation of relationships with production partners in the UK.  He will report to Beggs and Kamasa.

The hire marks the latest step in the continued expansion of Lionsgate’s television business. The Company is a leading supplier of premium series to cable, broadcast and digital platforms with a slate of nearly 80 television series on 40 different networks in the US.  In the UK, the Company has recently invested in production companies Primal Media and Kindle Entertainment as well as co-financing the hit Channel 4 comedy Damned.

November most recently served as Director of Drama, ITV Channels and for the past three years was responsible for the ITV drama slate including Downton Abbey, Broadchurch, Doc Martin and Scott & Bailey as well as new commissions including Marcella, The Durrells, Victoria, Maigret, Unforgotten, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries, The Frankenstein Chronicles and the return of Cold Feet.

 Serving as Head of Drama across the ITV network for five  years prior he oversaw the development of peak time dramas including Law & Order:UK, Foyle’s War, Poirot, Marple, Wild at Heart, Whitechapel, Midsomer Murders, Mr Selfridge, Above Suspicion and DCI Banks. November also spent seven years at the channel producing flagship shows Emmerdale & Coronation Street. 

Lionsgate’s roster of nearly 80 television series on 40 U.S. networks includes the ground-breaking Orange is the New Black on Netflix, fan favorite Nashville on CMT/Hulu, the Golden Globe-nominated Casual on Hulu, the acclaimed drama The Royals on E!, the breakout series Greenleaf on OWN and the eagerly-anticipated network reality series Candy Crush coming to CBS and Kicking & Screaming on Fox.
