David Notman-Watt, Founder/Managing Director, back2back productions

David Notman-Watt founded back2back in 2003 as a shooting PD, finally putting down his camera in 2009, which is when the back2back story started properly. Today, back2back is a wholly independent, Brighton-based, full service TV production company currently employing 15 full time staff and 31 freelance employees. It continues to grow, producing factual and fact-ent television in the UK and internationally, winning some gongs along the way.

David’s ambition has long been to create and establish returning TV brands and back2back has a huge and varied back catalogue with repeat commissions for series including Mega Shippers, Scrap Kings, The World’s Deadliest Weather and Help! My House is Haunted.

All elements of production are in-house, including nine fully serviced off-line edit suites, two on-line suites, multiple cameras, GFX, music as well as dedicated VO recording and dubbing facilities. Being completely independent, back2back is also unencumbered by layers of senior management or complex board structures, so the company is able to move quickly and pursue new and unusual funding models in order to get projects away.
