Nick Catliff, Managing Director, Lion Television
Nick is the co-founder and Managing Director of Lion Television. Lion has bases in London, Glasgow and New York and produces television programmes in genres ranging from Children’s Scripted Comedy to Entertainment, Quiz, Factual Entertainment, Daytime, Documentary and History.
Nick works as Executive Producer on many Lion shows. These include Access Documentaries such as British Army Girls (Channel 4), Her Majesty’s Cavalry (ITV1), A Very British Airline (BBC Two); Factual Formats such as We Are British Jews (BBC2); Arts programmes such as Victorian House of Arts and Crafts (BBC2) and Rebuilding The World Trade Center (Channel 4 -BAFTA and RTS Award winner); History Documentaries such as RAF 100 with Ewan McGregor (BBC1) and event-based shows like Eddie Izzard Marathon Man (BBC1, 2, 3).
Nick has overall responsibility for Lion USA where recent productions include, Cash Cab (Discovery, 5 Emmy Awards), Restaurant Redemption and Junk Food Flip (both Cooking Channel), Money from Strangers (MTV), Epic Feuds and Deadly Devotion (both Discovery ID), Driven To Love (WE) and America Revealed (PBS).
Nick started his career as a graduate trainee at the BBC. He is chairman of the Indie Training Fund which provides technical and professional training to the TV industry and also a trustee of the Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company. Nick keeps bees, has a very small flock of sheep and has recently completed an MBA at The Berlin School of Creative Leadership.
