Indielab: Programme Producer

based in Leeds, Glasgow or London

This position is full-time based flexibly in our Leeds, Glasgow or London. Salary is dependent on experience, anticipated to be £40,000 – £45,000 per annum.  

 

At Indielab, we create accelerators, masterclasses and seminars, taking place both live in the room and through our virtual platform. Our work spans the TV, film, animation and games sectors to support creators from the UK and beyond to grow and enable sustainable businesses. With world-class trainers and facilitators, we’re a small, innovative and empowering team.

The Programme  Producer works closely with all members of Indielab’s senior leadership team, and plays a leadership role in the development and delivery of our accelerators, masterclasses and seminars, as well as other Indielab initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the editorial design and delivery of new programmes, bringing a wealth of knowledge of the content sector, TV, film, animation and games, as well as extensive knowledge of training, conference or events design and delivery.
     

  • Host and present content to our attendees. Working at a high level, able to lead panel discussions with industry-leading speakers, introduce seminars and masterclasses; able to place content, themes and speakers into a wider industry context for our attendees, and reflect the bigger picture for them.
     

  • Manage timelines and event planning, overseeing marketing, editorial, attendee recruitment, talent booking and logistics, including live and virtual delivery plans, all within a tight budget.
     

  • Partnership management, either as a lead or in support of other team members, engaging with new partners, supporting relationship building, and bespoke delivery of partnership benefits for a range of partners and funders.
     

  • Lead our monitoring and feedback systems for our programmes, monitoring against agreed KPIs and preparing regular Progress and Tracking Reports to the highest possible standards, for both internal and external purposes.  
     

  • Lead and / or contribute to funding bids for new programmes and initiatives, building relationships with new partners and preparing fully comprehensive funding bids in collaboration with other team members.
     

  • Lead on the creation of ‘thought leadership’ themes to feature in editorial content, constantly looking for ways to innovate with event and session themes, as well as delivery styles.
     

  • Make some contributions to social content to support the Indielab Connect platform, and community development.
     

  • Collaborate with directors at Indielab to support strategic priorities, as well as ways of working together successfully.
     

  • Establish new practices for programme design, working with the team to fine-tune the programme development lifecycle.
     

  • Some travel in the UK is required to deliver training and events, with a limited number of overnights, not expected to exceed 10-15 per year, expenses covered.

Skills and Experience:

  • Three+ years experience in training, conference or events design and delivery, or similar editorial and leadership role demonstrated in a related field.
     

  • Coaching or team coaching qualification desirable.
     

  • Proven network and knowledge of TV and other screen content sectors.
     

  • Proven record working as part of small teams in fast-paced events environments, and managing change with flexibility.
     

  • Experience overseeing the creation of printed and digital materials required for the marketing and delivery of events. Track record of successful collaboration with designers, tech and client stakeholders.
     

  • Strong communication, curiosity and collaboration skills. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.
     

  • Mission-driven and keen to support and grow our community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture.
     

  • Experience of successfully collaborating with remote or distributed teams.
     

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment where we navigate the complexities of both scale and crafted experiences.
     

  • Experience with delivering online and virtual events.
     

  • Ability to manage a busy workload and work independently or on initiative where required.
     

  • High level of computer experience, using core Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), as well as confidence when using new and emerging platforms.

Workplace Conditions:

Your current location can be flexible, but you will need to work UK office hours. This position is based flexibly in our Leeds, Glasgow or London, though we will also consider candidates who would work remotely for an indefinite period.
