Indielab is collaborating with ScreenSkills on four dynamic animation training courses, aimed to upskill mid-to-senior level animation producers and directors.

  • Fully funded, the courses are set to empower participants with invaluable knowledge and insights to thrive in today’s competitive animation landscape.

  • Each of the courses will be led by an industry expert with practical experience and include contributions from accomplished animation professionals, with in-depth knowledge of their relevant areas of expertise.

  • The four courses are aimed at mid-to-senior level animation producers and directors, who are either in post at a studio, or freelance.

Course 1:
Creative Production Management in Animation

21st - 24th May, 09.30 - 13.30
Online

Delivered by seasoned animation Producer, Simon Quinn, the programme will focus on the development of senior-level skills in; budgeting, pipeline, scheduling and timelines, contractors, stakeholders, and key technology choices needed to manage and successfully deliver individual and multiple animation productions.

Course 2:
Creative Producing for Animation

4th - 7th June, 09.30 - 13.30
Online

Award winning Producer and Director, Tim Searle, will lead this course, enabling animation professionals to develop their skills in; collaboration and communication in animation production, production administration and reasoning, and scripting and storyboarding.

Course 3:
Creative Directing for Animation

18th - 21st June, 09.30 - 13.30
Online

Delivered by leading animation Director and Producer, Tim Searle. The course content will provide practical insight into the role of Director in animation including; understanding the roles and responsibilities of a Director; direction in pre-production, production and post-production process; music in animations; and working with voice actors, sound and storyboards in animation.

Course 4:
Creative Leadership in Animation

25th - 28th June, 09.30 - 13.30
Online

Run by Leadership Development Coach, Kate Lander. This course will guide participants and give insight to understanding the role of Creative Leader including what makes a good Creative Leader, how create a creative environment, how build an effective creative team, how to empower your team for practical results, creative leadership for the long term, communication and emotional intelligence for creative leadership, and the principles of problem solving in creative teams.
