1. Less than £6m in revenue in the last financial year (unless a purely scripted company in which case the increased upper limit of £10m revenue applies).

2. Applicant companies must have two broadcast credits for their programmes in the last two years, or a body of significant digital content.

3. There are a limited number of places for indie start-ups; founders must have three broadcast credits as producer, executive producer or series producer in the last three years.

4. Indies must be qualifying independent producers, not more than 25% owned by any company that also owns a UK broadcaster.
